CHO in the Garden

It is a well known fact that community gardens potentially have many benefits for participants and local communities.

Community gardens contribute to food security where residents can learn about organic gardening, grow their own food, donate produce to others.
Our aim is to encourage active participation by our local community , local schools and groups to become part of the garden and in turn contribute towards the health of  our local community, contribute to environmental sustainability, foster cultural and social development and find pathways to assist the local economy.

Hackham West Community Garden Visioning Workshops
A big thank you from CHO to everyone who participated in these workshops in 2018, they were a great success with plenty of strengths and visions for the garden brainstormed. We conducted the workshops using an appreciative inquiry method of discovering our and the garden’s strengths, dreaming what could be based on those strengths and designing what we’d like to see happen from those dreams.
Projects/activities for this year.

We will continue with these ideas put forward from last year,  plus other exciting interactive projects we have planned so far. Stay tuned for updates and calendar for activities for CHO.
